After a successful season in 2023, the Vallivue Golf program hopes to continue that success this season with a lot of talent at the tee. The boys golf program qualified for state last year and graduate Jaxon Wright finished first individually. Current senior Claire Hall, a three-time qualifier at the state tournament, is expected to have a great season.
Vallivue Golf has kicked off this year with two tournaments. One took place on August 15. It was a tough course, and both JV and Varsity had to play 18 holes. The most recent tournament was held by Vallivue at Timberstone, and Hall placed third with a score of 83. She hopes to end this season at state again, but this time she’d like to place in the top five.
Tori Barrus, the girls golf coach, is very proud of how the team has done so far: “You can tell these girls worked hard over the summer, and I expect them all to bring their skills to the team.” The boys team has a lot of new golfers this year, and the coaches expect them to do well this season.
