The Vallivue Girls Soccer team secured its first win of the season on Saturday, August 24 against Lewiston 2-1. They lost Wednesday to a tough Rocky Mountain team 1-4, but that isn’t deterring the team. The team seems confident about a return to the state tournament, led by senior captains Piper Hubler, Hailey Upson and Ali Hernandez and junior Amanda Soto.
With all of the changes to IDHSSA classifications, the Falcons will have some different opponents in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference (SIC). While Bishop Kelly and Ridgevue moved to 6A, Middleton and Nampa moved into 5A. According to the team, Middleton will be the most difficult conference game of the season, and this will take place on September 23.
When asked about what to expect this season, Head Coach Mariah Castillo stated, “Amanda Soto and Jenna Seals up top will be a dynamic duo that will compete and make it challenging for other teams to defend them well.”
The Falcons will travel to Ridgevue to face their district rivals on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
