Mr. Ielmorini in accordance is in his first year teaching at Vallivue High School, and this is his first teaching job. When asked if he has already had experience with this age range, he replied, “Yes. For the last six years, I was working with high school aged kids in a weight room setting, so this is the age range that I’ve been working with before.”
What Mr. Ielmorini is most looking forward to for his first year, as he says “Learning how to be the best teacher that I can be in the classroom setting and I want to make a positive difference in what goes on in the weight room and in the athletics of the kids that I work with.” His sixth and seventh period students are athletes who compete on school teams. Ielmorini wants them to “have the best seasons they can have in their respective sports. I want to make a difference and be positive on that front.”
The reason Mr. Ielmorini started teaching at Vallivue is quite heartwarming. Ielmorini states, “The people brought me to Vallivue. I knew Mrs. Dean outside of work, I used to train her sons, so I’ve had a relationship with her from that. When I came to apply for the PE position, every single person that I’ve met from a staff perspective came up and introduced themselves, everyone said hi, and it was really nice to be around people who genuinely cared about who you are as a person and look out for your well being. As for my previous job, that wasn’t really the case, so it was really nice to feel cared for and appreciated.”
Be sure to give Mr. Ielmorini some smiles when you see him around, he’s a great guy!
