It’s the start of a new semester, and one of the recent club additions this year is the Tabletop Club. This is a club that not many people talk about or know about, as it is relatively new. Isabelle LeDoux, a senior and part-time advisor, shared several facts. LeDoux said, “The Tabletop Club has a lot of Dungeons and Dragons, board games, card games, and Magic: The Gathering.” This would be great for people who are into fantasy role-playing games and want to expand their skills with the game.
LeDoux said, “Mr. Hunter [one of the new teachers at VHS] created it. He went off last year’s project, where he wanted to make a Dungeons and Dragons, but he thought it would not be inclusive to people, so he made it have thousands of different games.” The club rules are “No profanity, keep it PG, don’t extinguish a person’s idea, be clean and neat with the equipment and games in the club, and don’t exclude people.”
If you join the club, there are a lot of benefits. “You can learn a lot about math through certain games, and the club can help you develop social skills and teamwork, and can even help you with problem-solving,” LeDoux said. Finally, she says that her club hopes to accomplish things that would only help the club. “I would hope for more recognition for the club, as we try new things and gain more people to join the club, and it grows to be something special.” The club has a lot to offer for people who want to have fun and enjoy spending time with new people, playing board games, and so much more.
