VHS has two new counselors this year, one of which is Mrs. Stockdale. She serves all students with last names G-M.
Mrs. Stockdale has been a school counselor for six years. She absolutely loves to help people, which is why she wanted to be a counselor in the first place. She will help any of the students of her jurisdiction with any problem, no matter how insignificant they think it is. She wants to see her students thrive. She has always wanted to help people, to help you, and when she realized that she could become a school counselor as a career she went for it.
She was very lucky to be given the opportunity to go back to college after being a stay-at-home mom for her three kids. She got her master’s degree, and through lots of dreaded paperwork, we are now granted the amazing opportunity of Mrs. Stockdale’s presence at our school.
As much as she loves counseling, there will always be cons to it. She doesn’t enjoy paperwork, unless that wasn’t obvious already, as most people don’t paperwork. Who wants to sign documents and write your information in the little boxes? She also doesn’t like large caseloads. When she has something that requires a lot of her attention, it diverts it from others. She doesn’t like that feeling at all.
She absolutely loves traveling, though. She has been around both Europe and Africa, enjoying the different cultures and learning about different people. She loves to find similarities and differences in people from all over the world.
The rose is her favorite flower, she hopes to be like a rose. Roses can thrive in almost any environment, and she hopes to do the same. Mrs. Stockdale is already like a rose. She is the school’s rose, beautifully grown and ready to help.
