Mr. Green is new to VHS this year, and he is a teacher who is very involved in school activities. Here at Vallivue, he teaches six periods of weight training. These classes are a mix of general and athlete weight training classes.

Mr. Green has spent his whole life in Idaho. He graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello where he played football and baseball. Then, after majoring in Education at Idaho State University, he returned to Highland to teach weights, health and PE. He said that he wanted to teach because he would get the summers mostly off and that teaching high school helps him stay young. After that, he transferred to Wendell High School where he worked as an athletic director. As an athletic director, Mr. Green monitored student athlete grades, scheduled games, scheduled buses and watched games.

Over the summer, Mr. Green moved to Nampa from Jerome. He switched to Vallivue because he moved, it pays better, the hours were better for teaching, and he wanted to coach here. His favorite parts of teaching at Vallivue High School are the energy in the students and the great staff. He is very involved with the school, coaching both football and baseball. The football season is over, and his favorite memory from this season was when Ryker returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Since he teaches weights, Mr. Green occasionally lifts weights outside of the school environment as well. He also enjoys golf and pickleball. Besides coaching, he also enjoys watching football and baseball. His favorite teams are the Miami Dolphins, the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants. Mr. Green is not a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, so watch out Cowboys fans! He has many hobbies outside of school including reading books and grilling on his BBQ. He also enjoys traveling anywhere with a beach, the ocean and a golf course. To sum it all up, Mr. Green is a very nice person and a great teacher and coach.

About the Contributors
Jenna Hardman, Staff Writer
I am Jenna Hardman and I’m a freshman here at Vallivue High School. I am in the journalism class because I wanted to write about things going on around the school and locally. I enjoy this because it helps me get a better understanding of reporting and helps me practice my writing. I really like working on stories about upcoming events happening in the school. I have a few goals this year, including getting a lot of school event articles and being able to publish them in the online school newspaper. I also really want to write about local news going on around the school and inform students about things happening in the school around them including different clubs and other activities that are available for anyone to join. I am under the category of writing about student life and events, so I want to write about that specifically.
