Sofia Vergara, Staff Writer

My name is Sofia Vergara, and I am a sophomore. At the beginning of my freshman year, I put journalism as an alternate elective just because I needed to fill classes; however, as time passed, by the end of freshman year, I genuinely wanted to do it because it seemed fun and interesting, and I saw many videos and pop-ups about journalists and what they do. I enjoy working on sports news so far, and later I want to write about understanding how students think, especially how they differ from others. I think that is what makes journalism fun as well; it’s enjoyable to see how each person at school is unique in their own way, whether in their beliefs, fashion preferences, or the genres they enjoy reading or watching. This year, my goals are to become more social, improve my writing skills, and gain a deeper understanding of my school and peers.
