The Health Occupations of America (HOSA) club is an opportunity for students at Vallivue High School who have an interest in pursuing a career in the healthcare field. With a mission to help students gain experience in medical studies and provide information about college resources, the club has become a beacon for aspiring health professionals.
Led by Teresa Cadmus, Joy Harris, and multiple student advisors, HOSA provides its members with valuable experience. “Any student interested in any healthcare field for the future would benefit from joining HOSA,” Cadmus said.
The club’s vice president, Karlee Beatey, emphasized the importance HOSA has had on her high school career. She described it as “a great opportunity that everyone should be able to experience.” Beatey plans to compete in athletic training (AT) and physical therapy (PT) later this year.
As the school year progresses, HOSA members are gearing up to compete in state-level competitions where they can showcase their skills in a variety of healthcare-related events. These events include Leadership events, CPR, Medical Assisting, CNA, Medical Debate, and many more. The club’s success is a product of its hardworking and dedicated members, continuing to inspire a new generation of healthcare professionals.
